Vaping has become increasingly popular in our world. But, is it a good or bad thing?

Even though the teens will say otherwise, there are some cons to vaping. Brains aren’t fully developed until humans are in their twenties, so vaping younger than that can seriously harm the brain. The attention span gets shorter, and the kids (teens) have a harder time remembering certain things. Some vape juice contains the chemical formaldehyde, the chemical used to preserve dead bodies. Even though some vape juice is nicotine free, you are still breathing in water vapor which isn’t healthy.

According to, on the article about pros and cons of vaping, some pros of vaping are that if you are addicted to cigarettes it can help people wean off them. Vaping doesn’t contain as much nicotine, so people can quit easier. Although vaping has pros, there are many more cons. People under eighteen aren’t allowed to buy vape juice and pens.

At the University of South Carolina, researchers performed a study on mice, making a few of them inhale vape smoke for two weeks. Afterward, they injected all the mice with the flu virus. Almost all of the vaping mice died, and almost all of the non-vaping mice survived. They are taking this study and trying to figure out if vaping affects the immune system.

Even though there are pros and cons to vaping, the con side wins and scientists are finding out more things that vaping can do to you. If you do want to vape, wait until your brain is fully developed, and do it responsibly.
