Students and Staff at Sierra held a volleyball tournament on Friday, September 29. Teachers be schoolin came in first, but out of the student matches, 2 legit to hit won.

There were 8 teams that played in the tournament; BollyVollers, Aces, Power, 2 legit to hit, Teachers be schoolin, Hit that, Surv-ivors, and Mission Unblockable.

William Knight and Catherine Worsham said that the tournament was done as a way for Sierra to get closer as a community, and as a way to help students feel like they belong.

Students and staff were asked to make teams of 6-8 people, and it was a $35.00 fee per team that played. The prize was a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and a Trophy that would be hung by the Cafeteria.

“I was rooting for the Ace team, and I was sad when they lost. It was still fun, though.” 8th grader Kaitlyn Harvey said.

The tournament had two games going the whole time, until the final two teams were up. They had an A pool and a B pool, and the first place winner of one pool would play the loser of the other one. Then the elimination started.
