Sierra Middle School just wrapped up the Box Tops for Education fundraiser to buy 2 to 3 benches for the front entrance each worth 700 dollars. The fundraiser started on October 16 and ended on the 27th.

“I thought it was a good idea but I am not sure how effective it was because each box top is only worth 10 cents. I don’t think that the cause is very effective for the school. I might participate in the February fundraiser it just depends on what they are raising the money for,” said Lizzy Ahrens.

Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and can be found on cereal boxes, granola bar boxes and many Kroger products. Besides from Box Tops students and teachers could donate cash.

The 4th period class with the most Box Tops won an ice cream party. Mr. Sheffield’s 4th period class won by raising around $300.

“Mr. Sheffield is going to buy ice cream for an ice cream social because we won. It was cool and all but I wasn’t really excited that we won,” said Blake Hammel.

The next fundraiser is from February 12th to 23rd and hopefully more people will participate in this next fundraiser.
