Sierra Middle school is starting a food drive from the 18th-23rd of December. The goal of the food drive is to donate non-perishable foods to the Parker Task Force, and it also gives to homeless and jobless people.

There is a competition between all 4th period classes to see which class can get the most non-perishable foods. The winning 4th period class will get an ice-cream party after winter break.

“It is a good way to give to people in need,” Patricia Sanger said.

Things you can bring for your 4th period class are cans, boxes, and anything else that doesn’t expire quickly. Things you can’t bring are items such as milk, meat, or any other perishable item that will expire.

“My fourth period class is for sure going to win,” 8th grader Madelyn Sylva said.

So prepare for the food drive, and clean out your pantry with any cans or boxes of food that you know you will never eat. Just remember that you are doing it for a good cause, and also remember that you will get an ice cream party if your class wins.
