On Tuesday, January 30th, the Sierra Student Council went on a trip to the Edward’s Animal shelter after school. They went there to help out with the animals, which is something they did for the community.

There was a variety of different animals there. These animals include llamas, horses, ponies, goats, cows, turkeys, and chickens. Although the students were only able to help feed, they got a chance to meet the animals and do things with them.

“I think it was neat for the students to be able to interact with the animals, I just wish they were able to do more to help,” Student Council leader Will Knight said.

The student council students did this for community service. They have a mission to do at least one thing for the community each month. The animal shelter was a way for them to do that.

“I really had a lot of fun helping out. The llamas were my favorite,” 8th grader Ellie Komes said.
