Five members from Sierra’s Thespian club went to the Parker Shakespeare festival on March 27th.

These Thespians have been working on a scene from Much Ado About Nothing, and finally got to perform it at the festival. The Thespians had two allotted times to perform the five minute scene they had been working on to a panel of two judges. The performers presented their scenes then had a conversation with the judges about what they did well and what they could improve on.

“The Shakespeare festival was super fun because we got to dress up in shakespeare costumes and act, both of which I like,” Logan Rozelle said.

Although the main focus of the festival was to show off your scene, there were also other activities provided. There were classes on stage combat, Shakespearean language and other different Shakespeare related activities. There was also a caricature stand and a photo booth for people at the festival to get their photos taken and drawn. A Subway lunch was provided as well.

Although Sierra students did not make it onto the final round, they got to watch performances from those who did to finish off the day.
