Things To Do At Home During COVID-19


Cleaning your room or organinzing your closet is just one way to keep yourself busy at home!

Colorado is currently under a stay at home order and Douglas County School District has canceled in-class learning for the rest of the year. So, while you have all of this time on your hands, here are some things you can do at home while keeping your mind busy. 

Clean Your Room  According to a recent study published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, people who described their homes as cluttered, messy, and full of unfinished projects were also more depressed, tired and stressed out than those who described their homes as restorative and clean. In addition, a cleanroom just helps you sleep better! And getting enough rest is crucial to your happiness. Even if you think your room is clean, it not. You could always declutter your closet and throw away old clothes you don’t wear anymore. 

Relax Use this time as an advantage! Since you don’t have to worry about homework or studying for an upcoming test you can always just take a moment to breathe. Take a nice long hot shower each day or a bath to help ease your stress. Lowering blood pressure,  slowing your breathing rate, Improving digestion, maintaining normal blood sugar levels, reducing the activity of stress hormones, increasing blood flow to major muscles are just a few of the benefits of relaxing.

Netflix! There is nothing wrong with watching some TV. What else is there to do?  This can keep your mind busy and also can take your mind off of all of the things happening today. 

Trying Things You Haven’t Done Before! Right now with much time on your hands you could something you usually wouldn’t have the time to do. Be creative and have fun with what you chose to do. It could be something simple like reading a new book or reorganizing your room! Or you can spend time getting better at one of your favorite hobbies. For example, I love taking photos with my camera. Lately, I have been taking a lot of photos and I can see an improvement on my editing skills. 

Bake Baking is something anyone could do. It keeps you busy and you get to enjoy your delicious treat when you are done! According to Vitaully Magazine, Baking is taking pleasure and pride in something you’ve created and it can significantly boost your self-esteem!
