When you are taking into consideration that you are in middle school, you should also think of how the mornings are mandatory in determining how the rest of your day will go. One thing that is really important to your morning in a healthy and easy breakfast. I have an easy recipe that revolves around the early mornings required for Sierra middle school students. This recipe is easy, inexpensive, and other than mixing everything together, the only work included is sleeping.

Ingredients-

Oatmeal of any kind  (I recommend steel cut)  for amounts, follow the serving size instruction on the container.

Unsweetened Almond milk- For the amount also follow the serving size ratios on the oatmeal container based off of how much oatmeal you used.

Unsweetened Almond butter- 1 Tablespoon

Flax seeds- 1 Tablespoon

Black Chia Seeds- 1 Tablespoon

Directions-

1) To start, put the amount of oatmeal you chose to use in a large, airtight container, along with the Almond milk, Almond butter, Flax and Chia seeds.

2) Now mix all of the ingredients together so that it is well combined and the Almond butter is mixed in as best as you can get it.

3) Put the lid on the container and let the oatmeal sit in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours (overnight)

4) Take out the next morning and put the preferred amount into a bowl. Enjoy!

Recommendations-

I would recommend making this with steel cut oats. Also, don’t use sweetened Almond milk or butter. If you want the oatmeal to be sweet, before eating add some honey or another sweetener along with some fresh fruit! Lastly, we would make this before you go to bed so that it is ready in the morning.
