If you’re bored this weekend and in the mood for something sweet, make these super simple spice cake cupcakes!

You’ll need-

  • 1 package Betty Crocker Spice Cake Mix
  • 1 can Fanta soda
  • Cupcake pan
  • Cupcake liners
  • 1 package Pillsbury Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Mixer/ bowl and whisk

  • Sprinkles
  • Piping bag
  • Other decorations
  • Food dye

Preheat the oven to what the Betty Crocker Cake Mix says and line the cupcake pan with cupcake liners of your choice. Get out a mixer or bowl and whisk and pouring in the spice cake mix. Then pour one can of Fanta soda, sounds crazy but it is easy and works really well. Mix the ingredients until the batter is smooth and there are no lumps left. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners about half way up.

Place pan in the oven and bake according to the instructions on the box, to check if they’re done stick a toothpick in the middle at an angle. If there is still wet batter on the stick, their not done, if it’s clean their done! Get the cupcakes out carefully with an oven mitt and let them cool, I cooled them over night but they should be cooled after an hour or two.

Next, start decorating, you an add food dye to the frosting or leave it plain. I left the frosting plain and used a piping bag to apply the frosting. Feel free to pipe or spread the frosting on the cupcakes, it’s up to you. I then applied a layer of clear sprinkles and a cute snowman marshmallow, but you can decorate however you want, be creative!

After decorating you have a delicious set of cupcakes, now enjoy!
