Sierra Cross Country Meet Cancelled Against Sagewood

On Tuesday, August 21st, Sierra attempted to host a cross country meet against Sagewood. However, the meet was cancelled halfway through the 8th grade race due to lightning within 5 miles of the course. Therefor, 7th graders were not able to run. Not everybody finished the race, but the majority of people who did were Sierra runners. All of the top 5 runners were from Sierra, and 7 out of the top ten runners were eagles as well.

“I wish the meet was scored, I think we would of won by a lot and I really want to see my time.” student Wyatt Judd said.

This was the first meet of the season, and many of the runners feel that the season is going to be a good one. The cross country course was almost going to have to be cut short due to the landscaping crew not mowing one part of the track. But right before the meet, they showed up and allowed the full course to be ran.

“I feel like we are going to do good this season. We didn’t even get scored, and we destroyed Sagewood. In the rain!” student Brayden Bacon said.

Sierra’s next meet is on Tuesday, August 28th at Ranch View.
