Cross Country Meet 9/2

On September 2nd at 4pm, the Sierra Eagles Cross Country Team had their first meet of the school year. The boys team competed at Sierra and the girls had their meet at Ranchview Middle School.

“I thought they did good, they worked really hard, and they all had fun,” says Ms. Clifford, one of the Cross Country coaches this year.

Because COVID-19 is still a part of our everyday lives, a few changes have been made. This year, the boys and girls teams meets’ are split into two. One team has an away meet and the other has a home meet, but they are still competing against the same school. This year, they also are not keeping track of points, just the places each individual runner places in.

The eagles did well in their first meet, several of the students placed in the top five. One of the seventh grade girls even placed first.

“I am sorta excited for the rest of the season. I am looking forward to getting better, I got third place in my last race,” said Preston Spear.

The next meet for the Sierra Eagles takes place on Tuesday September 8th. The girls team will be competing at Sierra while the boys compete at Rocky Heights Middle School.
